Women wear ornaments made of gold at the upper part of the body because gold reacts with their energy and atmosphere to keep their head cool, whereas they wear ornaments made of silver at the lower part of the body because it reacts with earth's energy and keeps their foot warm. Science says that for ideal human condition head should be cool and foot should we warm.

Piercing left nostril reduces the pain caused during the delivery time as there is a nerve associated with reproductive organs present there. Ear piercing prevents a hernia, hydrocele and regulates the proper menstrual cycle.

Bangles cause friction which increases the blood circulation. The wrist is said to be the constant activation point for any human wearing bangles on the wrist reduces the energy going outside their body. Modern science says that any round shaped materials do not have any ends to pass the energy outside as it returns back to the initial point.

Anklets increase the blood circulation and help in curing the inflammation of foot. It also activates lymph glands and boosts immunity.

Toe-ring (மெட்டி/கணையாழி) is usually made to wear on the second toe because nerves from the second toe connect to the uterus and it passes to the heart, having a constant pressure at that point regulates the blood flow giving proper menstrual cycle. It is also good for the uterus, so it became a tradition to wear toe-ring on the marriage ceremony to help women having a strong uterus and get conceived without any trouble.

Sindoor is made up of Turmeric, Lime, and Metal mercury. Turmeric acts as an antibiotic, Lime reduces the body heat and Metal mercury removes stress, keeps them relaxed and triggers sexual drives applied straight up to pituitary gland (forehead). For which widow women do not apply sindoor.

Eye-ink is applied for cooling effect and it removes the heat from their body.

Mehendi on their hands prevents the nervous breakdown, headaches and other stress-related problems common for women during pregnancy times. It is also beneficial for the growth of nails and protects them from viral or fungal infections

This is the reason why women of those days had a longer lifespan with good health and did not face any medical problems. Now women are being more attracted to the fashion of western culture and don't seem to follow these traditions.

At present women faces a lot of problems during her menstrual cycles and at the time of childbirth which our ancestors did not face. The tradition which our ancestors followed is to keep them strong and free from those problems. But women nowadays are more attracted to beauty products, spa, etc.. The beauty products only enrich their skin tone and look but not leverage the physical condition of the body. The thing which we are asked to follow day to day has a lot of scientific values behind it so it is better to understand the values behind them and start practicing it from now.

A quick fact check on this shows that the infant mortality rate in India was highest in the world in the past and has significantly declined in recent years. It use to be 1 in 2 children survived now it is 1 in 25 children born survive. I don't disagree with the fact that old Indian traditions were good and for best. I just want us all to believe in an old tamil saying " kannal parpathum khadal keipaduthm poi ; theera visaripathey mei”
